Our yard has a significant hill, going down a full storey from the house to the alley. We hired a demolition company to rip out the entirety of it with heavy equipment and I surveyed it and made a design for new retaining walls, a patio/firepit area, tiered gardens and stairs to replace all the old crumbling stuff from the previous owner. My husband and I did the deeper foundation work, and then Daryl came in two years in a row, the first year doing all the pavers down the side yard out to the back alley to provide us with a sloped access path from the front to the back of our property, and the second year returning to put in the upper more precise part of the foundation, run drainage behind the walls and electrical lines we provided below the surface, and built all the stairs, tiered retaining walls, and patio area from the bottom to the top of our yard. The end result is very tidy, precisely laid out to my technical drawings and hits the right elevation change from the man door to the garage to the top deck with even stair risers. At the same time Daryl made great use of the wall stone's varying depths for something that looks fantastic on an artistic level. We particularly appreciated that his crew also levelled out all grading for us to lay sod, and did a very nice job cleaning up the alley with landscape fabric and gravel to keep the weeds at bay. (The fence post auger guys unfortunately were not as considerate.) We've had many compliments on our yard and on Daryl's work in particular from neighbours and passers by. I would definitely recommend Daryl and his company for future work.
